If you're both predominant side sleepers, a softer bed with more pressure relief will likely work for your relationship.

Firmness: Plush mattresses are usually more pressure-relieving than a firm mattress. If you're both back or stomach sleepers, a firmer mattress is probably the way to go for this situation. Couples should keep in mind that firmness is subjective based on how much you weigh.
